Greek Literature

Ancient Greek texts created the foundation of some of the greatest literary genres of the Western world. The most famous of these works include Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, as well as the poems of Hesiod and Sappho, the plays of Sophocles and Euripides, and the philosophy of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.
